We feel your pain but can’t share in it,
For we’ve been made to feel we’re different.
We watch the anger rise into rage,
And wonder what we can do at this stage.
We walk, we protest, we write all our words,
In order to offer you some of our courage.
Keep fighting, keep screaming, keep sharing your plight,
We’ll carry you with all of our might.
We offer our friendship our blood and our tears,
For we’ve not shouldered your burden all of these years.
It’s time for us to work and you to rest,
For centuries we have allowed this.
But now we’re done, we see you, we feel,
The future of our country is in you, this time it’s real.
